Twice Tom Cruise in the new Top Gun and Mission Impossible movies and twice unfortunately postponed.
Due to corona, all kinds of shifts are still taking place. Finally, this fall, we can enjoy the new James Bond film No Time To Die. However, it is not the case that everything is running smoothly. The latest news is that two new Tom Cruise movies, Top Gun: Maverick and Mission Impossible 7, have been delayed. That means you don’t have to expect both titles this year.
Both Top Gun: Maverick and Mission Impossible 7 will be released in 2022. In addition, the releases are spaced far apart to prevent the films from competing with each other. According to The New York Times the films have been postponed due to the spread of the delta variant of the coronavirus in the United States.
In concrete terms, this means that Top Gun: Maverick will be released on May 27, 2022. And Mission Impossible 7 has been postponed to September 30, 2022. The latter is certainly a downer, because it means that we have to wait more than a year for a new Mission Impossible.
It has also been announced that Jackass: Forever has been postponed to a new release sometime in 2022. This film would actually be in cinemas in a good month.
