This new PlayStation 5 feature brings the console and smartphone together more conveniently. Only a selected group is allowed to test it.
Unfortunately, we don’t get that chance, but gamers with a PlayStation 5 in Japan and Canada does. In those countries, Sony has started a trial to test a new feature. Namely the possibility to better bring the smartphone and console together.
The beta currently being tested works as follows. It is possible to quickly share screenshots and short clips from your PlayStation 5 to your smartphone. This process is done via the PlayStation app. You then have the freedom to share these screenshots or clips from your smartphone. With your friends, or on social media. Suppose you make a beautiful kill in Call of Duty. Or you experience a bizarre moment in Gran Turismo. Sharing on social media or with your friends is now a hassle. With this new PlayStation, that is very easy.
With the beta, the screenshots and short clips are stored in the cloud. You then have two weeks (14 days) to download them from the cloud with your smartphone via the PlayStation app. It is not yet known if and when the final version of this new PlayStation 5 feature will appear. But rest assured that you will soon be able to get started with this feature.
