‘Netflix wants to invest in live streaming’

If we are to believe the latest rumors, video streaming service Netflix wants to invest in a new part: live streaming.

Because comedians are doing quite well on the platform, Netflix wants to Reportedly initially focus on offering live shows in the form of stand-up comedy.

But it doesn’t stop there. Netflix also gives itself the space to present other types of live content, such as reunion shows and shows where you can vote for candidates live.

Netflix and live streaming

For now, however, the focus seems to be on comedians and comedians. For example, the company recently organized the Netflix is a Joke festival. That event took place in Los Angeles in the United States and lasted several days.

More than 130 comedians performed during the festival, including Ali Wong, Bill Burr, Jerry Seinfeld and John Mulaney. Now we can expect some comedy specials from the service this summer, featuring footage from this big event. But in the future, Netflix can also immediately broadcast such content live, should the plans go ahead.

Netflix’s competitors are already investing in this feature. Consider, for example, Disney+, which recently broadcast the Academy Awards live. Whether this will stem the downward spiral of Netflix, which recently lost subscribers, time will tell.
