Supporting people who suffer from cancer is the mission of the Takeda laboratory, which has launched a new mobile application to manage pain on a daily basis.
Come soothe patients
The number of people suffering from cancer continues to increase: in 2015, the number of new cases of cancer in France was estimated at 385,000. And 1 in 2 patients suffer from cancer pain. This is why the Takeda laboratory has launched a new mobile application, to allow patients to be supported in the face of this pain. Objective: to avoid isolation, depression and stress related to the disease.
1st application intended for patients suffering from cancer pain, and the professionals who take care of them, “My pain coach” can become a very useful tool. The patient can describe his pain, its duration, its repercussions on his daily life, write down treatments, manage medical appointments and get information about cancer pain or the cancers themselves.
A free application
This free application has been designed by doctors, oncologists, radiotherapists and pain specialists, in order to best respond to patient requests. Thanks to this tool, the patient will be able to accurately describe to his doctor the pain he has felt, he can even print the summaries of what he has lived to analyze with precision his condition day after day.
Suffering when you are sick can make an already complicated situation worse, not understanding your pain can cause a lot of anxiety and ultimately be extremely harmful. The idea of this application is therefore rather interesting and will allow many patients to feel less alone and better supported in their obstacle course.
