After the publication of various studies demonstrating the benefits of the entourage on longevity and memory, new results published by the review American Journal of Public Health associate the social network with protection against dementia.
The study followed 2,249 women aged 78 and over for 4 years. 268 participants were diagnosed with some form of dementia during this period.
But the results showed that among these women, those who maintained at least daily contact with those around them – whether by telephone, e-mail or face-to-face – saw their risk of developing dementia decrease until 26%. However, being married or not did not interfere with these results.
