If you don’t have children, you’ve probably never heard of M’T dents. Behind this acronym hides the full coverage by the Health Insurance of certain preventive appointments with the dentist.
Until now, M’T dents visits have been restricted to children aged 6, 9, 12, 15 and 18. One month before their birthday, you will receive an invitation letter from the Health Insurance for a dental prevention appointment.
But from next January 1, young adults will also have the benefit of additional visits fully covered by Health Insurance. A decree published on April 25 in the Official Journal set the age of these additional meetings at 21 and 24 years old.
What if care needs to be taken?
When the dentist discovers that the child or teenager needs additional care (treatment of cavities and roots, scaling, sealing of furrows, etc.), these are covered 100% by Health Insurance . However, this treatment must be carried out within nine months of the examination.
If your child is 6 or 12 years old: you benefit from the advance fee waiver and you therefore have no money to advance.
If your child is 9, 15 or 18 years old: it is up to you to advance the costs but you will be reimbursed quickly.
The extension of M’T dents visits mainly targets students who forgo oral care due to lack of financial means.
