I’asthma is a chronic disease that requires special attention from patients who must adopt good reflexes and follow their treatment very scrupulously. However, “1 asthmatic out of 2 does not take his basic treatment and that 6 asthma out of 10 are not sufficiently controlled”, according to health insurance press release. To help patients in their daily lives, the Health Insurance is launching Asthm’Activ, a new free mobile application.
This application is a real mobile logbook that allows you to better understand your asthma and learn more about their symptoms. Indeed, it gives an estimate of the control of the disease and offers practical recommendations for taking your treatment and understanding it better.
Better control asthma
According to L’Assurance Maladie, “asthma is ‘well controlled’ if during the past 4 weeks:
-There are few symptoms during the day (no more than 2 episodes/week).
-There is no nocturnal alarm clock.
– The practice of usual activities is not limited.
-The treatment of the crisis is not used more than 2 times / week”.
“A good control of your asthma is the key to leading a social, professional or athletic as normal as possible. For this, it is important to listen to your feelings and the discomfort that the disease causes on a daily basis to talk to your doctor about it. It is also essential to scrupulously follow the prescribed treatment. The new Asthm’Activ mobile application aims to facilitate these two facets of the management of the disease and helps to live better with it. » explains Dr. François-Xavier Brouck, director of health insurance policyholders.
The Asthm’Activ application can be downloaded for free from the App Store or Google Play Store.
