Slowly but surely we can make ends meet regarding the car that Apple is going to release. One thing’s for sure: like their other devices, you don’t have to count on a bargain.
After successfully serving the computer and smartphone market for years, Apple has been working on a mega project for a while. The American brand would like to put a car on the market in addition to their existing technology.
Certainties Apple car
What we already know for sure: it has been confirmed several times that it is being worked on. What we also know for sure is that a previously rumored partnership with Kia and Hyundai came to a head when it came to building the Apple car. What we don’t know for sure yet is the rest of the whole party. The car is rumored to be on the market around 2025 and there should be a lot of emphasis on autonomous functions. A true ‘sci-fi’ car like the one above seems unlikely: Apple is going to give their car a special twist, but if 2025 is the goal, the whole picture will at least resemble the cars as we know them. Four wheels, two pedals and a steering wheel seems to be the least you can expect.
Price
According to recent rumors, there is something we can expect from the Apple car: an Apple price tag. The brand is known for their sometimes very disproportionately high prices for products and often they are relatively the most expensive devices in their segments. You should not expect a deviation from that trend for the Apple car. It is more or less the intention that it will be a ‘normal’ car, but according to LeaksApplePro the price tag will be above 100,000 dollars. This makes that ‘average’ a bit less, if the car starts competing with the better models from Mercedes, BMW and also the top models from Tesla. Even the Porsche Taycan, quite a car with prestige in the electric segment, is nowadays cheaper than $100,000.
Furthermore, it is still a bit of a guess as to the precise shape of an Apple car, but expect a lot of technological features and therefore an emphasis on many driver assistance systems or even autonomous driving. The Apple car is therefore planned for 2025 or 2026.
