“It’s time for a broad mobilization in the face of allergy”, for Christine Rolland, director of theassociation Asthma & Allergies.
On March 22, 2016, during the 10th French Allergy Day, the association will take the opportunity to present its proposals to act in the face ofasthma and to allergies.
Contents: reinforced screening, alternatives to allergenic plant species in parks and gardens, equipping emergency vehicles with adrenaline, improving treatment coverage by mutual insurance companies, integrating therapeutic education into the care pathway, training dieticians to food allergy, promotion of the profession of allergist, verification of environmental conditions in schools, creation of 20 additional positions for Medical Advisors in the Indoor Environment (CMEI).
“The solutions we offer to public authorities, elected officials or healthcare professionals are pragmatic. Essentially, they require more will than means, but the time to act is now.
It is also at this price that the view of the community will change on people who suffer from allergies”, assures Christine Rolland.

Asthma: 50% of the world’s population will be affected
In 20 years, the number of people with allergies has doubled. Today, 1 in 4 people suffer from respiratory allergy and 4 million people are asthmatics.
In 2050, 50% of the world’s population will be affected by at least one allergic disease, according to the World Health Organization (WHO). The agency ranks allergies as the 4th disease in the world after cancer, cardiovascular pathologies and AIDS.
As their frequency increases, so does their severity. And remember that in France, thetherapeutic wandering before a diagnosis is made is another 7 years.
An alarming situation since the diagnoses and treatments are effective. They now allow allergic patients to lead a fulfilling life on the social, academic, professional, personal, food or sports levels…
