We’ll have to wait a little longer, but when the iPhone 14 comes, what’s on it? We have collected and listed all expectations for you.
The iPhone 13 has only just arrived, but the rumor mill is already getting up to speed for number 14. Our hearts beat with anticipation and in the second half of the year it will probably already be that far. What is already known and what you need to know about the new smartphone from Apple. The well entered 9to5mac has its sources.
1. Chips
First of all, the Chip, which is different. Two of the four expected models will receive a modified version of the A15 chip, the other two a brand new one. For example, Apple could opt for a high-end version of its A15 Bionic Chip in the “entry level”, models of the iPhone 14. According to the aforementioned sources, all models presented this year will receive at least 6 GB of RAM.
2. No mini
We already mentioned it, four models, but no mini this time. It will probably come with a 6.1 and a 6.7 inch screen. the 5.4 inch version will then disappear.
3. Screen
The sizes have just been mentioned, but what about the resolution. The same is expected as with the current iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. The flagship iPhone 14 pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max could be a bit bigger due to the new “notch + pill” design, a pill-shaped opening at the top of the screen that replaces the current notch at the top
4. Satellite communication
Before the introduction of the iPhone 13, it was whispered that it would be equipped with satellite communication. That feature turned out not to have reached 13 yet. Whether that technology will be in the next iPhone this fall remains to be seen. In any case, Apple is testing prototypes that can send text messages via satellite. ET phone home!
5. Camera
At least some of the iPhone 14 models will no longer have a great camera. The parts of the camera do not fit into the current thin design of the phone. That’s why it always sticks out. By making the next generation slightly thicker, the camera will fit in.
The front camera will get an improved autofocus function and will take another step towards the features of the rear camera. That camera will probably get a 48 megapixel sensor. This does not mean that the output will also be 48 megapixels. This can also be, for example, a 12 megapixel image with more detail and less noise.
6. No touch ID
A touch ID under or integrated in the screen is not yet available. The rumors have been around for a while, but the expectation is that the iPhone 14 will not get a touch ID.
Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo tweeted today that he does not expect that before 2024 either. For the iPhone 16, he expects an all-screen iPhone, with both Touch ID and a camera behind the screen. So just a little patience. Just have to wait and see this fall.
