A high-end Duster or nothing
The Duster is an SUV “ low cost », But most buyers take advantage of its low price to target finishes with the best equipment. Thereby, more than half of restyled Duster buyers opt for the Prestige finish which offers automatic air conditioning, GPS, reversing camera and 17 ” rims as standard. 28% even choose the Up & Go offer which, in addition to offering delivery within a shorter period, adds additional equipment (hands-free card, multi-view camera, etc.). On the Duster II phase 1, the proportion of posh versions was already 77%.
Diesel in decline
Diesel remains the preferred engine on the Duster, even if the proportion of vehicles running on diesel has slowed down considerably from 76% to 46%. It must also be said that the restyled Duster catalog now only has one entry (Blue dCi 115) against two in the past (dCi 90 and dCi 110). If the number of Duster gasoline remains stable, there is a real craze for the gasoline-LPG version. In addition to being the cheapest in the catalog, it offers a small advantage at the pump with fuel at 0.85 € per liter and can travel up to 1000 km thanks to its dual-fuel. Conclusion: it has conquered 5 times more buyers on the restyled Duster, going from 5 to 25% of the mix.
The auto gearbox goes up in the stats
On the gearbox side, Dacia has reinstated the 6-speed EDC which had made an express switch to the Duster 2 phase 1 diesel. This justifies this renewed interest in the automatic transmission which now attracts more than 23% of buyers, against 4% on the un-restyled SUV. Finally, all-wheel drive has so far attracted only 15% of buyers of the new Duster, against 25% on phase 1. It must also be said that the 4-wheel drive, formerly available on gasoline TCe 130 and 150 , are only offered with the 1.5 diesel 115 hp.
