Porsche will make changes to the Taycan from September. On the program of these improvements: better daily autonomy, remote parking option or integration of Android Auto. In addition, the sports sedan will be able to have a personalized color palette.
Cars are now moving almost in real time. Tesla has accustomed us to updating its vehicles remotely in order to improve certain features. This practice is starting to happen with other manufacturers, in particular thanks to the deployment of electric cars. So one would expect that Porsche would offer an update on its Taycan lineup. However, this will not affect existing models, but only vehicles marketed from September.
Porsche announces more autonomy on a daily basis
However, in the majority of cases, these are technological developments. Starting with improving autonomy. Porsche claims, however, that the WLTP approved values will not budge, on the other hand, in its daily use, the Taycan should have a wider range of action. For this, in Normal and Range modes of all-wheel drive versions, the front engine will be decoupled. When the car is coasting, the motors no longer supply any energy to the axles. In addition, to optimize recharging, the battery can be heated to a slightly higher temperature: fast charging then starts earlier and at a higher level.

Optional remote parking aid
The Taycan is an imposing car (4.96 m in length) and parking is not always easy. Porsche now offers the Remote Park Assist option to control maneuvers remotely from their mobile phone. Once the parking space has been detected, the driver activates the process via the Porsche Connect app and then exits the vehicle. As long as he keeps his finger pressed on a button on his smartphone, the Taycan parks itself by managing the pace and the steering. If he lets go, the car stops.
Android Auto finally available
As surprising as it may sound, the Taycan has so far only been compatible with Apple CarPlay. Thanks to the sixth generation of the Porsche Communication Manager (PCM), Android Auto will now also be available. In addition, the layout of the touchscreen interface has been changed with a menu comprising five items and customization of icon placements.
Colors that amaze you
The latest development is above all aesthetic. If you do not find what you are looking for among the 17 colors offered, Porsche opens up access to the custom colors Paint to Sample and Paint to Sample Plus. The first allows you to choose from a palette of 65 additional shades including Acid Green, Riviera Blue, Ruby Red or Metallic Purple. As for the second, it gives free rein to your imagination with almost unlimited customization: it is thus possible to match the color of the Taycan to one of your favorite accessories … Developments concerning both the sedan and its Cross Turismo station wagon version.
