These recommendations mainly concern vulnerable populations such as the homeless, the elderly and people with respiratory or cardiovascular pathologies.
The Directorate General of Health recalls that each year, hundreds of people are victims of pathologies caused by the cold: asthma attack, acute coronary insufficiency (angina pectoris), and development of bronchopulmonary infections.
This health authority therefore recommends:
– Limit outdoor activities, especially for people at risk. People who have to go out are advised to bring a scarf to cover the lower part of the face and particularly the mouth.
-Infants and young children are particularly at risk. Infants placed in baby carriers can develop frostbite. It is best to carry your baby in your arms, or in a stroller.
– At home, it is advisable to ensure the proper functioning of ventilation devices, which must have been maintained before use.
– The General Directorate of Health also invites everyone to hear from the elderly or disabled, or even isolated, in the neighborhood.
