The first Dutch series of HBO Max has been announced in the form of FBOY ISLAND NEDERLAND.
Videoland has been producing its own series for some time now. Not surprising for a Dutch streaming service, of course. Also the American Netflix has a Dutch-Belgian production in the form of Undercover. Which is also a really successful series internationally, so that’s great. New kid on the block HBO Max is in our country and this service is also going to make a Dutch series. This is how it has been announced.
There will be a Dutch version of the HBO Max Original hit series FBoy Island† The series is appropriately called FBOY ISLAND NETHERLANDS. The ten-part series is produced by WBITVP and presented by Lisa Loeb. You may know her as the winner of De Slimste Mens 2021.
FBoy Island is an idea of Elan Gale, known for The Bachelor† The series follows three women who travel to a tropical island. There are 16 men waiting for them. Eight of them are nice guys, 8 of them are also Fboys. In the end, there is a competition for a considerable cash prize.
In short, FBOY ISLAND NETHERLANDS will be a classic example of reality pulp. But that’s what viewers are begging for. Netflix produces enough series where love and struggle are presented as a reality show. HBO Max is happily participating and even now with a Dutch series.
