Thursday, November 23, the public college of Julie-Victoire-Daubié of Saint-Philbert-de-Grandlieu seemed deserted. For good reason, 166 of the 456 were absent for illness. All were struck by the same digestive troubles. Fever, intestinal pain… The symptoms have aroused suspicion around a food poisoning.
The students would have been poisoned inside the establishment, according to the regional health agency (ARS) taken over by Ouest-France. Fortunately, no serious is to report according to the ARS.
An ongoing investigation
Is a food, a drink or a lack of hygiene in the preparation of the meals at the origin of this poisoning? An investigation is underway and microbial analyzes have been carried out to find out the exact causes of digestive disorders in college students. The results will be known next week according to 20 minutes.
Parents of sick students were asked to fill in a questionnaire what their children had been able to consume in the school canteen.
